Footage from a recent AC/DC concert is making waves online, and not in the way the band might hope.

A TikTok video from the group’s May 4 performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, has gone viral (watch it below).

The clip shows guitarist Angus Young dressed in an unbuttoned white shirt and animated as ever, while frontman Brian Johnson’s vocals struggle to rise above the sound of the crowd.

Fans on social media are now questioning whether the legendary rockers should still be touring (via New York Post).

“This is so painful. They just need to stop,” one commenter wrote.

“I was going to get tickets until I saw this,” said another.

Others were more forgiving, noting that the band’s age should factor into expectations.

“It’s an old band. Of course they’re not going to be the same,” one person pointed out.

“Let them do what they want! I’ll still go watch them to say I’ve seen them one final time,” added another.

AC/DC is currently on their Power Up world tour, which includes recent stops across Europe and North America. Despite the online criticism, professional reviews of the tour have been positive.

Rolling Stone Germany praised the show as a “thunderous performance.” The Guardian described it as “a poignant lesson on the power of rock’n’roll.” Ultimate Guitar called it “a relentless barrage of rock anthems.”

The Australian leg of the tour kicks off later this year. Shows are set for:

  • Melbourne (MCG) – November 12
  • Sydney (Accor Stadium) – November 21
  • Adelaide (bp Grand Final) – November 30
  • Perth (Optus Stadium) – December 4
  • Brisbane (Suncorp Stadium) – December 14

The last time AC/DC toured Australia in 2015, more than 520,000 tickets were sold.

The current debate highlights a common question for legacy bands: how long should they keep going?

While some fans worry about the band’s legacy, others just want to enjoy the music, even if it’s not quite the same as it used to be.

AC/DC has not responded to the social media chatter, and for now, the tour continues.
