As I Lay Dying: Tim Lambesis’ Wife Denies Abuse Claims as Band Falls Apart
Internal struggles lead to mass departures and canceled plans for the metalcore giants.
- Three members of As I Lay Dying and their manager have quit, and the European tour has been canceled.
- Rumors of domestic abuse against Tim Lambesis were denied by his wife, Dany Lambesis.
- Fans remain in the dark as the band’s remaining members stay silent on the ongoing chaos.
The ongoing collapse of As I Lay Dying is starting to look like the band’s final encore. Over the past week, three members and their manager have jumped ship. Meanwhile, every act slated to support them on their European tour has announced they’re out, effectively canceling the whole thing. At this point, fans are left staring at the rubble, wondering what caused this implosion. Silence from the remaining members isn’t helping either.
When guitarist Ken Susi left, he hinted at some serious drama, saying his “personal morals have recently been tested to the breaking point.” That’s a loaded statement, especially coming from someone who had no problem joining a band whose frontman did time for hiring a hitman to kill his wife. Naturally, the internet went into overdrive. A popular theory started circulating that the fallout stemmed from an allegation of domestic abuse against Tim Lambesis.

Tim’s current wife, Dany Lambesis, was quick to address the rumors directly. She took to Instagram to clear the air, saying:
“I am writing this statement to address the recent rumors circulating on social media regarding my husband, Tim Lambesis, and the allegations of domestic violence. It has come to my attention that false claims have been made, suggesting that my husband has harmed me.
“I want to make it unequivocally clear that these allegations are completely false. My husband has never caused harm to me in this manner, and I am deeply saddened by the unfounded rumors that have emerged during this challenging time for his band. There has never been an incident that warrants such accusations. We have had our relationship issues like many other couples, but nothing to the degree of domestic violence or what is being portrayed online.
“It deeply saddens me that I find myself in a position where I must publicly explain my personal life and relationship because of flat out lies. It is completely unjust that everything spread the way it did and nobody even considered my voice to be heard through it all. This is unfair to both Tim and I and our relationship.
“It is disheartening to witness how quickly misinformation can spread and the impact it can have on individuals and families. I ask that you respect our privacy during this time and refrain from perpetuating these harmful rumors any further.”
If that wasn’t clear enough, Dany doubled down in a comment under her post:
“To clarify, if Tim were to physically abuse me, I would take the initiative to expose him myself, rather than relying on an anonymous individual lacking credible evidence.”
There ya go folks. Dany’s made it crystal clear she isn’t accusing Tim of anything, and she’s fed up with the wild speculation. But that leaves the question: what’s causing all this chaos?
It’s worth repeating: these are people who already signed on to work with a guy who was recorded trying to hire someone to kill his wife. If that wasn’t a dealbreaker, what is? What kind of circus act could make them suddenly clutch their moral compasses? Maybe it’s a scandal too ridiculous to imagine, or maybe it’s just a slow-motion collapse of a band that’s run its course.
Whatever the case, it’s shaping up to be a hell of a mess, and the silence from the remaining members isn’t exactly inspiring confidence. Let’s see if this band of drama delivers the encore nobody asked for.
