Asking Alexandria’s recent Warped Tour performance is stirring debate online, and some fans think it may be time for lead singer Danny Worsnop to step aside.

Worsnop came on stage wearing black sweatpants, black gloves, and a hoodie that covered most of his face (watch the video at the end of this article).
While fans have previously speculated that he might be lip-syncing during shows, this time it was clear he was singing live. Still, that didn’t stop criticism from rolling in.

Audio issues and vocal struggles
Some viewers say Worsnop’s voice was hard to hear at points, with volume levels going up and down.
In a few songs, especially “Dark Void” and “Alone In A Room,” his vocals were either drowned out by the band or came in too loud and unbalanced.
Clips from the show posted to YouTube show that his vocals occasionally clashed with the instrumentals.
At times, he skipped screaming parts entirely, instead walking around the stage quietly. His closing message to the crowd also lacked enthusiasm, adding to the concerns.
A mix of reactions
Fans are divided. Some blamed sound tech issues, saying it’s hard to properly balance live vocals, especially during festival sets. Others say the bigger problem is Worsnop’s lack of energy and connection with the crowd.
There’s also been speculation online that Worsnop may be going through personal struggles, but none of that has been confirmed.
For some fans, though, the hoodie and all-black outfit made it harder to engage with him onstage.
Band response
Bass player Sam Bettley posted a short apology on Instagram after the show. When asked by a fan if it was about Warped Tour, he replied, “Yes it is actually.”
That hasn’t stopped a wave of online comments calling for Worsnop to step down from the band.
Critics say he’s not bringing the energy Asking Alexandria needs. Others say that one rough performance shouldn’t lead to that kind of reaction.
The band is scheduled to perform again at Warped Tour in Long Beach this July. That show may be a key moment to either win back doubters or fuel more criticism.
In the meantime, fans continue to debate what went wrong, and what comes next for Asking Alexandria.
