- Evanescence plans to start recording their new album in November, with ’tons of ideas’ ready for Round One.
- Amy Lee confirmed the band is in the creative process during an interview at Rock In Rio.
- They’ll also join the Musicians For Kamala livestream alongside Devo, Living Colour, and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.
Evanescence—masters of gothic drama and mid-2000s radio dominance—is gearing up to record their next album. When? November. (Mark your calendars, or don’t. Your call.)
The news dropped during an interview with 89 A Rádio Rock at Rock In Rio, where the band is currently melting faces. Vocalist Amy Lee shared some crumbs (okay, actual details) about the project. According to The PRP, she said: “We’re in the creative process right now, but we’re not deep in the throes of it yet. We’ve been doing a lot of creating, and we just have, like, tons of ideas. So we’re gonna get serious and get in the studio in November for the first round. Round one.”

Creative? Tons of ideas? Sure. Every band says that before they hit the studio. But Lee’s track record? Solid. (She’s been steering this ship since 1994, after all.)
Speaking of history—Evanescence’s meteoric rise came with their 2003 breakout single Bring Me to Life. The track obliterated charts worldwide, giving their debut album Fallen the rocket boost it needed. Global domination followed: UK, US, Canada, Australia, Italy—basically everywhere that counted. MTV played that video like it was paying rent. And the critics? Shockingly nice. Fallen became the gold standard of early 2000s nu-metal (for those who liked their angst with orchestral flourishes).
Fast forward to 2021’s The Bitter Truth. A comeback, ten years in the making. It delivered exactly what fans expected: big emotions, bigger vocals, and just the right amount of drama. “Emotive, stirring, and just a touch overwrought,” wrote Metal Hammer’s Dannii Leivers, giving it a 7/10. (Translation: It’s good. Not perfect. But good.)
And Evanescence isn’t just resting on their laurels—or their eyeliner. They’ll be part of next week’s Musicians For Kamala livestream, joining acts like Devo, Living Colour, Jefferson Starship, and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips. Politics and rock? Tricky mix. But hey, why not? (Evanescence has never exactly played it safe.)
So November it is. Tons of ideas. Round one. Let’s see if the hype holds up.
