Halestorm has released a new single titled “Rain Your Blood On Me,” giving fans another preview of the band’s next studio album, Everest, due out August 8 through Atlantic Records (listen below).
The new track arrives just days after the group’s appearance at Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert. During the event, Halestorm performed a short but energetic set that included their song “Love Bites (So Do I)” and a cover of Ozzy’s “Perry Mason.”

“Rain Your Blood On Me” made its live debut at that show. Now, the official studio version is available on digital platforms. It’s the third track revealed from the upcoming album, following “Darkness Always Wins” and the title track “Everest.”
The song opens with a slow, pounding rhythm, then builds into a mix of explosive drums from Arejay Hale, fast riffs by guitarist Joe Hottinger, and powerful vocals from Lzzy Hale. Josh Smith’s bass holds it all down with a dark, steady groove.
In a statement, Lzzy Hale described the song as a tribute to women and the struggles they face. “The crawl, the climb, the clenching of fists, the screaming of sirens, the breaking of glass, this is our war cry,” she said. The song’s chant began during a late night in Savannah, Georgia, with the band watching storm clouds gather over trees covered in Spanish moss. By morning, it had turned into a full song.
“We may not win the war in our lifetime, but we can pass the torch to our daughters so that they may light the way,” Lzzy added.
A different kind of album
Everest is Halestorm’s sixth studio album and the follow-up to their 2022 release Back From The Dead. It was produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb, who has worked with artists like Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Greta Van Fleet.
According to the band, the recording process was different from their past albums. Instead of walking in with a stack of demos, they wrote and recorded songs in real time. Some tracks don’t even have a click track or guide because they were recorded as ideas came together.
“The first day we actually ended up writing our first single,” Lzzy said in a recent interview with Cutter’s Rockcast. “We would start with a line or a riff, set up the instruments, and hit record. If it wasn’t a ‘hell yeah,’ it was a ‘hell no.’”
The band didn’t follow a strict plan or studio schedule. They stayed in a house in Savannah, surrounded by trees and riverbanks. Each day started late and ended in the early hours, often with the band keeping their engineer awake by experimenting with new sounds deep into the night.

Back to basics, with experience
The result, according to Lzzy, is an album that captures both the energy of their early days and the experience they’ve gained over two decades.
“My bass player said it best,” she explained. "‘It’s like a long road back to the beginning.’"
She described the process as freeing and emotional. Without pressure from label deadlines or industry input, the band focused only on what excited them.
“There’s nothing on this album that anybody forced us to do,” Lzzy said. “There’s nothing on this album that isn’t part of our personalities.”
The album includes both heavy rock songs and slower, mid-tempo tracks. Lzzy said it explores a wide range of emotions, frustration, sadness, anger, and even love, and reflects the band’s growth as people and musicians.
Touring and what’s next
Halestorm has been on tour in Europe this year, opening for Iron Maiden. They’ll return to the U.S. in July to co-headline a tour with Volbeat, starting July 17 in Denver.
Later this year, the band will headline the nEVEREST North American tour, joined by Lindsey Stirling and Apocalyptica. A separate run of UK arena dates is scheduled for November, featuring support from Bloodywood and Kelsey Karter & The Heroines.
The UK tour will stop in cities including Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, and London, with shows at major venues like the O2 Arena.

With Rain Your Blood On Me, Halestorm continues to mix heavy rock with raw emotion and strong lyrical themes.
The track hints at an album that’s less polished and more personal, the kind of record a band makes when they stop caring about outside opinions and focus entirely on their own voice.
“It’s the most Halestorm album we’ve ever done,” Lzzy said. “And I don’t even care if anybody likes it, because all four of us agree, this is our favorite.”
Everest drops August 8.
