Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson are officially engaged. The couple marked the occasion in a memorable way, with the proposal happening backstage at none other than Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert with Black Sabbath.

The engagement took place on Saturday, July 5, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. It came just after Ozzy, 76, wrapped up his farewell performance with the original Black Sabbath lineup.

Wilson, 48, is best known as the masked turntablist for the metal band Slipknot. Kelly, 40, is the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and is known for her work in television, including her role on Fashion Police and appearances on The Osbournes.

In a video posted on Instagram, Wilson is seen taking Kelly’s hand while surrounded by family and friends backstage.

“Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world,” Wilson said before pulling out a ring. “Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”

Kelly appeared shocked at first, then nodded and hugged Wilson as the room erupted in cheers. Ozzy, sitting nearby, joked before the proposal began, saying, “F off, you’re not marrying my daughter.” The moment drew laughter from those in the room, including Sharon Osbourne and Kelly’s brother, Jack Osbourne.

Kelly shared the video with the caption: “Oh and this happened yesterday!”

The couple’s relationship goes back decades. Kelly and Sid first met in 1999 when Slipknot was part of the Ozzfest lineup, the traveling festival founded by her parents. They maintained a long friendship before taking things to the next level in early 2022.

Their romance became public that January. Not long after, Kelly posted on Instagram for Valentine’s Day, calling Sid her “best friend”, “soulmate”, and saying she was “deeply in love” with him. Wilson shared the same photo on his own account, writing, “There is not enough colours to display the palette of Love I have for you in my Heart. Happy Valentines Day my Love XoXo.”

In May 2022, Kelly announced that the couple was expecting their first child. She posted a photo holding an ultrasound image and wrote, “I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma. To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!”

Their son, Sidney, was born later that year. Though Kelly hoped to keep the birth private for a while, her mother Sharon let the news slip during a 2023 episode of The Talk. “His name is Sidney. They’re doing so great,” Sharon said. “She won’t let a picture go out of him.”

Kelly later responded through Instagram Stories, saying, “I am not ready to share him with the world.”

On a September 2023 episode of The Osbournes podcast, Kelly spoke about how motherhood had changed her. “He’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” she said. “I just love being a mom. It is everything to me.”

Wilson, too, has talked publicly about their relationship. In a Knotfest interview, he said he wasn’t bothered by the increased attention. “It doesn’t bother me at all. I love her to death. It’s just the path I’m meant to be on,” he said, adding that everything about their relationship felt natural.

The couple had reportedly been quietly serious for a while. A 2022 report by People described them as “very happy together.” At one point, Kelly even posted a photo of herself traveling with a large pillow printed with Wilson’s face, joking, “Everywhere I go I take my baby with me.”

This engagement marks another milestone in what has already been a big year for the Osbourne family. Ozzy’s farewell show brought Black Sabbath’s long career to a close. And now, Kelly and Sid are starting a new chapter of their own.
