Korn's Hits Get a Lo-Fi Makeover—And They Approve
Korn supports a lo-fi instrumental album of their songs by lonelyboy, ahead of their upcoming tour.
- Korn approved a lo-fi instrumental cover album of their hits by lonelyboy.
- The band is heading on a North American tour this fall with Gojira and Spiritbox.
- Fans can catch the real deal across multiple dates in September and October.
Korn gave a nod of approval to a recent lo-fi album (listen below) of covers that takes their iconic tracks like “Freak on a Leash” and “Blind” and, let’s be honest, strips them down to something that feels like you should be sipping coffee in some indie café. It’s an odd move, but it works… sort of.
The album is by lonelyboy, and while it’s more of a loose instrumental spin on Korn’s original heavy hitters, it still somehow carries the essence of the chaos with a touch of, dare I say, chill.

Ok, alright, if we’re being honest, the real fun would be hearing Jonathan Davis’s unapologetic growls layered on top of these mellow beats. Imagine the intensity of Davis’ vocals refusing to tone down as the music around him softens. I’d pay good money for that mashup.
Speaking of Korn, the band has recently announced a North American tour for this fall, so if you’re looking to catch the real deal instead of the coffeehouse remix, you’ve got plenty of dates to choose from. They’re sharing the stage with Gojira and Spiritbox, so expect things to get loud.
