Let’s be real, when Mötley Crüe says they’re going big, they usually mean they’re planning to melt your face off with enough pyro to be seen from space.
It looks like 2026 is going to be no different, as bassist Nikki Sixx is already hyping up their massive “The Return Of Carnival Of Sins” tour.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original legendary run and the band’s 45th year of existence, this 33-city trek is set to be a monster.
Kicking off July 17, 2026, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, the tour features Extreme and Tesla as support. If you’re a fan of 80s-flavored shred and stadium-sized anthems, this is basically your Christmas.
During a recent chat with Jon Smith of 103.5 The Arrow, Sixx got into the weeds about how the band is evolving.
While the old-school tours required a literal fleet of 20 semi-trucks filled with “hard goods” and gear, Sixx says the digital age is changing the game.
“Now, with the advancement of technology, we can just take the fans on a crazy journey,” Sixx said. “I just think it’s gonna be the next level. ‘Cause the first one was a lot of people’s favorite tour, so we have a lot to live up to.”
Pushing the Boundaries of “Shock and Awe”
The Crüe has always been about upping the ante. We’re talking about the guys who lit Sixx on fire for the “Live Wire” video and experimented with mixing fuels to make different colored flames.
But since even baseball games have pyro now, the band is looking toward high-end video and thematic production to keep things fresh.
Sixx explained that the creative process starts with a theme, like the “carnival” vibe, and then they build a color palette and a visual journey around it.
It’s about competing with the digital devices in everyone’s pockets by giving them something they can’t see anywhere else.
The Setlist
As for what they’ll actually be playing, don’t worry, they aren’t pulling a David Bowie and skipping the classics.
Sixx mentioned that while he hates when bands ignore their “A-list” tracks, they are planning to dust off some gems like “On With The Show” from their debut.
“We’re not tired of playing those hits, but we are excited about getting into a setlist and diving into some songs that we maybe never played or haven’t played in a long time,” Sixx noted.
Life, Health, and Giving Back
At this stage in their careers, the band is also being smarter about how they hit the road.
Instead of the grueling two-year grinds of the past, the 2026 tour is spaced out, two weeks on, two weeks off.
This allows Sixx to maintain his role as a “dad, husband, and sobriety advocate” without burning out.
It’s also a miracle of sorts that the band is back in fighting shape at all. Frontman Vince Neil is recovering after a series of strokes, including a major one last Christmas, that initially delayed their Vegas residency.
But the band is moving forward, and they’re doing some good along the way; $1 from every ticket sold is going to ASAP! (After School Arts Program) to help fund arts for the next generation of rockers.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 5.
You might want to grab yours early, because if Sixx is right, this is going to be the kind of “shock and awe” spectacle that only the Crüe can deliver.
