OZZY OSBOURNE Says He Wants To Work With PAUL MCCARTNEY: 'I Would Be Honoured'

During a new episode of Ozzy Speaks on SiriusXM (transcribed by LOUDLEGENDS.COM), Ozzy Osbourne mentioned that he would like to collaborate with Paul McCartney.

The rock icon discussed the idea while chatting with his co-host, Billy Morrison.

When asked if there was anyone he’d still like to duet with, Osbourne quickly named McCartney.

“Paul McCartney,” he said.

Morrison followed up by reminding Ozzy they’ve put that wish out into the world before, encouraging him to say it again.

“Paul, if you’re listening, it’s about time.”

Ozzy admitted he’d be honored to sing with McCartney, though he didn’t seem entirely confident about the possibility.

“No, I would be honoured but I couldn’t,” he said, without explaining why.

The two also reflected on Osbourne’s past duets. He named his collaboration with Lita Ford as his favorite, though Morrison reminded him about the duet with his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, which Ozzy also appreciated.

Even though Ozzy claimed he doesn’t really like duets, Morrison noted that his distinct vocal style, which often includes double-tracking, might be what makes his few collaborations stand out.

They recalled recording the song “Crack Cocaine” and how Ozzy impressed everyone in the studio with his harmonies. Osbourne then revealed that he’s been studying The Beatles, focusing on how McCartney and Lennon split their harmonies.

“Paul had the high notes, but Lennon had the low harmony,” Ozzy said. “I always go high.”

Osbourne talks Bowie, breakfast, and ‘bullshit’

Later in the episode, David Bowie came up. Morrison mentioned Bowie’s run of concept albums and frequent changes in image. Ozzy pointed to the Ziggy Stardust era as his personal favorite.

“The Bowie I like was Ziggy Stardust. Up to that, it was okay,” he said, pausing to find the right word.

Morrison shared that while he liked some of Bowie’s personas and not others, that was part of the appeal. Ozzy responded with typical bluntness:

“He’s got his fair share of bullshit as well, you know? But you know what? God bless his soul.”

He also shared a random encounter at Hugo’s, a restaurant in Los Angeles. He was with his wife Sharon Osbourne when he heard someone call his name.

“I hear, ‘Ozzy.’ What the fuck is that? We look across the road, it’s David Bowie.”

Morrison laughed at the idea of Bowie casually waving from across the street.
