Sebastian Bach recently shared a wild story from his days on tour with Pantera.
The former Skid Row frontman opened up in a new interview about a chaotic moment involving the late Dimebag Darrell, a knife, and a hotel lobby couch (via Sense Music Media) (transcribed by LOUDLEGENDS.COM).
“We got a call saying we’d been kicked out of the hotel,” Bach said. “I wasn’t even there yet.”

According to Bach, Dimebag Darrell and Dave “Snake” Sabo had taken acid earlier that day. The result? Dimebag ended up stabbing the couch in the hotel lobby. No one was hurt, but the damage was enough to get the group removed from the hotel before Bach had even arrived.
“He didn’t stab any people,” Bach added. “Just the couch.”
The incident happened during a joint tour in the early 1990s. Bach made it clear this was a different era, marked by a much looser set of expectations for band behavior.
A Different Time in Rock
Bach laughed as he reflected on the wild lifestyle. He joked with the interviewer, saying, “Don’t do acid, kids.” He also emphasized how much times have changed for musicians.
When asked if rock stars today could get away with the same antics, Bach pointed to Liam Gallagher of Oasis as one of the few who still keeps that raw edge.
“He said all he wanted was a big-screen HDTV and a fit bird,” Bach said. “That’s all I want too. I’ve got my TVs, and my chick is fit as a fiddle.”
Memories, Music, and a New Album
Bach has more going on than just tour memories. He recently released a new album titled Child Within the Man. The title and artwork have deep personal meaning.
He discovered an old painting from the 1970s while cleaning out a storage unit in Las Vegas. The painting, created by his father, shows a 10-year-old Bach running next to a car. Another painting nearby featured Bach on stage in 1989, when he opened for Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium.
Those images became the foundation for the new album cover. The team used digital tools to enhance the original artwork, blending Bach’s past and present into a single image.
“That lyric from ‘Everybody Bleeds’—‘the child within the man’—kept playing in my head,” he said.
Bach originally planned to self-title the album but changed his mind. That one lyric gave the record its name.
Touring Australia
Bach also confirmed that he’ll be performing in Brisbane on November 29 at the Eatons Hill Hotel. He’ll play Skid Row’s debut album in full. The performance is part of a rescheduled tour originally set for 2020, which was postponed due to the pandemic.
“The promoter asked us to still do it,” Bach said. “So we said OK.”
The album is available on vinyl, CD, and even cassette. Bach admitted he missed approving the final vinyl press in person, which led to the artwork being slightly off-center.
“It drives me crazy,” he said, laughing. “But the cassette came out perfect.”
Beyond music, Bach is now represented by Wentworth Galleries, joining artists like Paul Stanley and Ronnie Wood. He’s been finishing his late father’s artwork, bringing it to a new audience.
“Art and music have a life of their own,” he said.
