Slipknot's Look Outside Your Window Finally Set for 2025 Release
After nearly two decades, the long-delayed side project moves to management's hands with a marketing plan in place.
- Look Outside Your Window, Slipknot’s long-delayed 2008 side project, is finally set for a 2025 release, with artwork and a marketing plan ready.
- Clown confirmed the album is now in management’s hands, saying, ‘The money’s spent, the plan’s in place, and it’s happening.’
- Recorded alongside All Hope Is Gone, the album features Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Clown, and Sid Wilson, with only one track, ‘Til We Die, ever released so far.
Slipknot’s Look Outside Your Window is like Bigfoot. Always talked about. Never seen. But now, after nearly 20 years of “soon, we swear,” the album might actually happen. Supposedly, it’s coming in 2025. This time, it’s not because Jim Root is threatening to upload it out of spite. Nope, according to Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the album is finally in management’s hands. And apparently, there’s even artwork. Gasp.
“It’s ready,” Clown told NME. “I showed Corey the artwork a couple of days ago. But because of Christmas and New Year, it’s not sliding in this year.” A classic holiday excuse. Happens to the best of us, right? But hey, at least Clown seems confident it’s out of his control now. “The money’s spent, the plan’s in place, management has it, and it’s happening,” he added. What a relief—for him, anyway.

He even sounded a little too happy to let it go. “I’m just glad to finally be rid of it,” he admitted. “It’s not hype. It’s something we did while working on other Slipknot albums. Very honest. No rules. Just guys making music.” Then, in true artist fashion, Clown got philosophical. “I don’t know if it’s ‘good,’ but I love it.” Translation: Don’t get your hopes up, people.
Here’s a little backstory for the diehards who’ve been waiting since the Bush administration. The album was recorded back in 2008 alongside All Hope Is Gone. It features Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Clown, and Sid Wilson. The only track fans have ever heard is “‘Til We Die,” which showed up as a bonus on All Hope Is Gone. Oh, and “My Pain” also came out of these sessions, but it got reworked for We Are Not Your Kind. So yeah, there’s not a lot to go on, unless you’re into cryptic mystery albums.
Now the big question: Is it worth the wait? Probably depends on how much you’ve romanticized this thing over the years. After all, waiting nearly two decades for something that might not even sound like Slipknot is a gamble. But hey, if you’ve stuck around this long, you’re probably too committed to back out now.
At least now we know whose court the ball is in. Management, the clock’s ticking.
