Watch: Metallica Drops New “Too Far Gone?” Video with Tour Highlights
Live debut footage and pro-skateboarding action meet in Metallica’s latest visual release.
- Metallica drops a new music video for “Too Far Gone?”, featuring live footage from East Rutherford.
- Directed by Coan “Buddy” Nichols, starring Felipe Nunes, marking the song’s live debut.
- Band takes a brief tour break before their next stop at the Power Trip Festival in November.
Metallica might’ve dropped 72 Seasons a mere five months back, but the internet reaction could’ve fooled anyone into thinking it’s been years since that release.
One side hollered about “disastrous trash,” while the other shrugged, calling it “pretty decent.” And now, with the first leg of the M72 World Tour wrapped up, the giants of metal have dropped a fresh video for “Too Far Gone?”, keeping the latest album in the spotlight.

When 72 Seasons launched, Metallica went all-in, releasing a video for every track, saturating YouTube with a mix of visuals to pair with the new sound. Not to be outdone, they’ve also served up live clips from cities across the globe as the M72 Tour keeps rolling.
Today’s new video, directed by Coan “Buddy” Nichols, takes things in a different direction. It stars Felipe Nunes and mixes in live shots from Metallica’s stop in East Rutherford last month. Turns out, that was the first-ever live performance of “Too Far Gone?”—which, for die-hard fans, adds a certain exclusivity to the whole thing.
With Metallica set to play at the Power Trip Festival next month, they’re taking a brief break from the road, regrouping for a fresh round of dates in November. The remaining M72 Tour schedule is down below for those planning to catch this legendary outfit live.
